Chain extender and emulsifier for aqueous polyurethane dispersions. It is aliphatic diamine sulfonic acid sodium salt, used as a hydrophilic chain extender or a hydrophilic monomer in the preparation of waterborne polyurethane resin, suitable for coatings, inks, adhesives and leather finishing agents and other industries. Sodium ethylenediaminoethanesulfonate can also be used in other fields as organic intermediates and biochemical reagents. Its X-position and second-position amino groups can react with isocyanate groups and are often recommended for use in the acetone process. Polyurethane dispersions synthesized using AAS salts have good hydrolytic stability and good compatibility with other anionic or nonionic aqueous dispersions.
