This product is a derivative of isonicotinic acid. It may inhibit peptide synthesis. The effect of this product on mycobacterium tuberculosis depends on the concentration of the drug in the infected site. At low concentration, it only has bacteriostatic effect, while at high concentration, it has bactericidal effect. Inhibit the synthesis of mycoacid from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This product has partial cross resistance to ethionotinamide.
