Raw material for the preparation of palladium compounds such as palladium tetrabromate. It is widely sold as a commodity and used as a starting material for palladium chemistry, although it is less common than palladium chloride. Similar to palladium chloride, bromine chemicalbook palladium is insoluble in water, but soluble in acetonitrile when heated, and forms adducts in the form of monomers: PdBr2+2MeCN→PdBr2(MeCN)2
